Here on the beautiful Island of Mallorca our official summer season runs through until the 31st october, after which a huge number of businesses close for the winter season.
September and October are the months that the real lovers of the Island visit and grab the opportunity to explore the wonderful hidden coves, coastal paths, winding roads along the Tramuntana Mountain range and traditional inland villages either by foot, bike or hire car. The restaurants prepare their terraces with more intimate tables for two than noisy large tables for 10 and the standard of the cuisine and service rises to meet the expectations of the visitors.
Many of the spectacular large villas with pools sadly sit empty whilst there is great demand for one bedroom apartments and hotel rooms. Airlines reduce the price of the their flights and currently there is availability during October for return flights from London to Palma de Mallorca from 90 euros.
The island as always has many wonderful traditional events to enjoy during the autumn, including the Binissalem wine fair towards the end of September, the Alcudia annual fair during the first weekend of October and the Pollensa annual fair which is held over the second weekend of November.
